From Financial Education to Investment Intelligence

CJ Smart Finance began in 2023 as a financial education platform. The founding mission focused on making finance easier to understand, replacing complicated explanations and overwhelming financial language with practical information people apply to real decisions.

As the platform grew, we identified a deeper problem within the Kenyan stock market. Investors often had to search through multiple websites, market reports, news platforms, and spreadsheets to understand a single NSE stock. Accurate information was fragmented, analysis required time, and beginners faced a steep learning curve.

In 2025, we began developing an AI-powered platform that could bring market information, analysis, education, and portfolio intelligence together. The initial MVP is now complete and preparing to welcome its first early-access users.

Built from Real Experience

CJ Smart Finance was co-founded by Carol Jenny and Pancrasio Mwangi, a couple with complementary experience in financial education, accounting, investing, finance, software development, and technology.

Carol's work in financial education revealed how difficult financial information feels when presented without clarity or practical context. As a Kenyan stocks trader, Pancrasio experienced another side of the problem: finding accurate information about NSE-listed companies took time, and understanding the market as a beginner took even longer.

The two experiences pointed to the same need: Kenyan investors deserved a platform that could help them learn, research, and monitor their investments without unnecessary complexity.
